This procedure will show how to set the WiFi on a HYRIS bCUBETM when no other connections are available (like LAN ports) and when HYRIS bCUBETM is not connected yet to the HYRIS SystemTM.
Wi-Fi specification
HYRIS bCUBE™ it is only compatible with Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz (802.11a/g/n) protected by WPA2 with PSK or EAP authentication;
The HYRIS bCUBE™ default Wi-Fi regulatory domain is set to international, which restrict the available Wi-Fi channels to 1 to 11. In some environments would be necessary to change regulatory domain to connect to a network hosted on channels 12 to 14;
HYRIS bCUBE™ is NOT compatible with networks with hidden SSID;
HYRIS bCUBE™ is NOT compatible 5/6Ghz only Wi-Fi networks;
HYRIS bCUBE™ is not compatible with Open Wi-Fi networks and with captive portals authentication;
The SSID Wi-Fi can be any alphanumeric, case sensitive entry from 2 to 32 characters. Check that no special characters are present in the SSID Wi-Fi;
The Wi-Fi Name does not have special characters;
The password can be up to 63 ASCII characters; avoid the trailing and leading space and be careful with special characters; also a combination of both uppercase and lowercase is allowed;
The network is respecting the requirements specified in the IT document;
The network country must be correctly configured inside the HYRIS bCUBE™ in order to improve connectivity
Operative Steps
Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Windows PC Network Adapter (LAN) and the other end to HYRIS bCUBE™ Ethernet Plug; just make sure that your PC/Laptop is connected to the same network as HYRIS bCUBE™;
Power on the PC and log into the operation system;
Connect the PC through Wi-Fi to internet making sure your connection is stable;
Power on the HYRIS bCUBE™ and wait until the connection LED is steady blue like the configuration shown here:
; also red blinking color is possible for the HYRIS bDATA™ LED (first LED);
Note: If Status LEDs colors are different from the above mentioned, try to repeat the steps. Otherwise, check the Owner’s Manual. If problem persists you can contact us at support@hyris.net
Log-in in the HYRIS bAPP™ and click on the Devices menu;
Select the desired HYRIS bCUBETM by its Serial Number also reported on the bottom surface of the instrument;
Click the Local Settings Page (
) button and select one of the two suggested links (Link A or Link B) to access the Local settings page;
- Click on ''Network'' section;
Click on one the
button to search for available Wi-Fi; available Wi-Fi and related signals information are shown in the table;
Click on the
button to scan the network;
NOTE: Always check the signal strength of the Wi-Fi Network: negative values near the 0 indicate a good strength while further the negative values move away from the 0 more the signal strength get worse. The security value is -65.
Click on the desired Wi-Fi and fill the correspondent password;
When the desired WiFi network is saved, go back to the HYRIS bAPPTM and unplug the Ethernet cable from the HYRIS bCUBETM. After some seconds, the Status LEDs should shown the Ready colors
and the HYRIS bCUBETM will be ready to be used.
The user can delete the saved Wi-Fi clicking on the button.
Wi-Fi can also be added manually, by clicking on the ''Add manually'' button: in this case, insert the desired Wi-Fi SSID and the related password.
WPS Connection
Also WPS connection is possible: clicking on the ''WPS'' button, you have 120 seconds to allow WPS connection on your router. When the connection is set, the network will be saved automatically on the HYRIS bCUBETM and the network SSID will appear on the saved WiFi list.
Moreover, clicking on the ‘’Regulatory’’ button and selecting your Country, the connectivity performances of the device could be improved.
The general information about the HYRIS bCUBE™ are shown clicking on the ‘’Dashboard’’ section; in particular on the bottom left of the screen are reported the IP Address, the HYRIS bKERNEL™ version and the HYRIS bCUBE™ Serial Number, while in the Status are reported the information about the analysis performed on the instrument.
